Cheshire West and Chester became a new Unitary Authority in April 2009 and took this opportunity to make ambitious changes and provide better public services across the borough. One of the key priorities has been to achieve financial stability in the current economic crisis and save a target of £30 million pounds. This has been achieved through introducing a financial strategy that focuses on performance driven structures, aligned corporate priorities and innovative investment.
