Third Challenge: A Night in Northampton
In the third episode of the Local Government Challenge, the
contestants are set a night time challenge in Northampton. The town is a
thriving centre with a buzzing after dark scene but like many urban
centres in the UK it attracts a large number of partygoers at the
weekends, despite a concerted effort to promote its cultural offerings
such as the famous Royal and Derngate Theatre. The task for this
challenge is for the contestants to experience a Friday night out in
Northampton and then come up with a strategy that will revitalise the
town's night time economy and make it a an after dark destination that
will appeal to everyone, from drinkers to thinkers.
