Sports Development Officer, Teignbridge District Council
Nikki Toms has blazed a trail for Sports Development over eight hard-working years, the majority with Teignbridge District Council. Locally renowned as the 'Council Angel' for her dedication in making the Decoy Dirt Trails and Concrete Bowl Skate Park the country's first BMX facility to combine dirt jumps, a skate park and BMX racing, Nikki has forged an extra-special relationship with the district's youth. Nikki's exceptional journey, despite the challenges, has had a phenomenal effect on the Council's reputation in the eyes of younger audiences, and looks set to positively influence local youths for many years. Nikki has a passion for hockey, playing in County teams and coaching youngsters as a volunteer. Her commitment is unparalleled, and she has proven outstanding in promoting the widest variety of sporting opportunities. Together with her Sports Science degree, Nikki's energy, passion, commitment and can-do attitude really has turned young people's dreams into reality.
