Oxford City Council
Oxford is a dynamic, modern city, with all the advantages and some of the disadvantages that cities bring. It suffers the effects of rough sleeping, drug misuse and anti-social behaviour. The City Centre Cleansing Team is proud to be recognised for its close partnership with Thames Valley Police in addressing this problem. The work that has to be carried out is extremely unpleasant and can involve dangerous work, such as removing uncapped syringes. The team is happy to respond at a moment's notice to ensure that there is no impact on, or danger to the local community. While doing this vital work the team needs to rely on each other, and have developed a strong team spirit.
