Fire Control Staff
Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue
The unsung heroes of Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue are the members of its Control team. This group of people work behind the scenes to make sure that when people dial 999 the emergency response runs as smooth as clockwork. Members of the Control team often give advice over the phone when people are in distress and waiting for fire crews to arrive and the team are also there to ensure firefighters can be pinpointed to an incident and coordinated so that fire engines are used in the most efficient way. The role of Control staff often goes unnoticed by the general public while praise is heaped on their colleagues on the frontline. But anyone in the Fire and Rescue service will tell you that the role that Control performs is indispensable.
